The SL Colonies mailbox has been **rebuilt from the ground up**. Meet **The Counting House** : a new post office for every colonist, with a new mailbox to match. Write to anyone, enclose goods, set a price, and it’s waiting for them the next time they visit a mailbox, wherever they are on the grid.

## What’s new

- **A brand-new mailbox.** An oak post box with a shingle roof, brass slot and red flag, at about **1 land impact**.
- **Open it your way.** Left-click and choose **In HUD** or **In browser**. One click, no owner menus, no settings.
- **Every mailbox is a public post office.** Collect your own mail at any mailbox on any sim, not just your own.
- **See what’s in the post.** Every item you’re sent shows with its picture, and every letter is tagged: Letter, Market, Payment, COD, how much is enclosed.
- **Reply** to any letter, with the name and subject filled in for you, and a **Replied** badge so you know what you’ve already answered.
- **Mark unread** keeps a letter in front of you until you’ve dealt with it.
- **Take all** collects every enclosure waiting for you in one press.
- **Return to sender** sends a player’s letter and its goods back.
- **Enclose anything from your inventory** , with a search and quantities, and set a **cash-on-delivery** price in coins.
- **Market and vendor deliveries** land here, clearly marked.
- **Safer by design.** Your mail opens only for you, from a mailbox you touched. Nobody else can read it, take from it or pay from it.
- **It keeps itself up to date** with the Mending Skep.

## Cash on delivery: a trade route in every mailbox

Somebody asks your smith for clay jars. The smith makes them, posts them with a price, and gets paid when they’re collected. No meeting up, no vendor, no waiting for each other to log in.

## Have an old mailbox?

**The old mailboxes have stopped working.** Bring yours to the **retire counter at our store** and you’ll get the new mailbox in return:

Mail that was already waiting for you is still there: open any new mailbox to find it.

## Make it yours

The mailbox is fully modifiable. Resize it, or unlink the mailbox mesh and link your own build in its place. Just keep the **transparent root box** as the root: it holds the scripts, and they only work there.
