I’m trying to figure out how to make regular Wheat Mash. The website lists it as a Level 0 recipe requiring just 1 water and 1 wheat, but the Mash Tun crafting HUD seems to require barley malt to craft any recipe.

2Good catch, Kaia!
That “wheat mash” (1 water + 1 wheat) is an old recipe from before the Mash Tun app, still listed on the website by mistake.
The Mash Tun now works by inventing your own mash: in the app, combine wheat, a malt (barley malt or wheat malt) and water, and save it as your recipe.
That’s why it always asks for a malt. Once you’ve made it, it’s in your recipe book and you can use Use Recipe next time.
We’ll take the old listing down so it stops confusing people. Thanks for flagging it!
The Brewer quest required to progress to the next level, “Your Trial for Level 3: The First Mash,” requires you to make 10 wheat mash, but it isn’t recognizing the wheat mash I crafted. I crafted 10 Medium Wheat Mash, but the quest progress remains at 0 of 10.
let me fix that! That was mismade then hahaha.
– attila.katanaThanks Kaia, you found a real bug! The Brewer’s “First Mash” trial was asking for the old wheat mash that the Mash Tun can’t make any more, so it could never count. It now counts Medium Wheat Mash or Basic Wheat Mash. Once today’s update is live, your 20 Medium Wheat Mash will show as 10 of 10, and your 2 Potato Sour Mash already count. That leaves the 20 grapes to bring to the Brewer Master before you can take level 3.
